Houten, The Netherlands- The Royal Dutch Mint has signed a new multiyear agreement with the Central Bank of Ireland to mint all Irish collector coins, and now also €2 commemorative coins. The contract, that will commence in May 2026, marks a significant milestone in the long-standing cooperation between European institutions in the production of high-quality coinage.
The best referee of the Netherlands, Serdar Gözübüyük, received a personal toss coin before the league game Go Ahead Eagles – Volendam in the Dutch League. The toss coin, custom made by Royal Dutch Mint, shows two sides of the referee: his professional and his personal side. The referee will use this coin for both Dutch League games and international games in Champions League and Europa League.
Space remains an interesting and amazing subject and in 2025 we will focus on a special milestone. The European Space Agency turns 50! To celebrate this, the Royal Dutch Mint will launch a 50 Cent in Coincard. For this occasion, Mintmaster Bert van Ravenswaaij paid a visit to Dr. Dietmar Pilz, Head of ESTEC and Head of the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality at the European Space Agency in Noordwijk, for a special handover moment.

The Royal Dutch Mint launched the very first Dutch NFT coins. The collection of 4.000 pieces is inspired by the collaboration with organization Free a Girl. Never before an NFT was released by the producer of Dutch coins. With the reveal of the digital coin, also the sales of the Free a Girl coincard have started.
Ottawa – The Royal Dutch Mint has won the award for Best Sustainability Initiative during the MDC (Mint Directors Conference) in Ottawa, Canada, for their building: The Dutch Vault. The new Dutch Vault in Houten, which went into operation in 2020, is the first energy-neutral mint in the industry. Several sustainability measures have been taken to drastically decrease the waste.
From the 3rd until the 5th of February, the World Money Fair took place in Berlin. The Royal Dutch Mint attended the fair, like many other Mints from all over the world.
